I don't have the time, inclination, or technical expertise to compare our 2nd round picks (and trades out of 2nd round picks, and trades of 2nd round picks once chosen who are for whatever rason let go) with those of other teams but given the crapshoot factor that is part of every draft, I'll wager that overall Snead's record is better than most.
Some of the second rounders were clearly coach's choice. Snead sees his job as getting players the coach wants - either "Get me a wide receiver who can.." - or "Get me Brian Quick." Everybody including position coaches has input before a pick is made - to wit, the OL guy jumping into a swimming pool at the selection of his plug-and-play guard, Logan Bruss - who proceeded to get knocked on his arse and whiff a few times, not showing much until he got hurt.
It's a collaborative model with McVay, his coaches, and Snead, and it works well overall.
Sneafd, in my view, is a bloody genius in how he manages the entire picture - including draft picks. I'm not going to pick at it.
