1) Our D-line typically has trouble getting to Jimmy G on passing downs because Shanny deploys a quick passing game. So, a healthy Trent Williams or not doesn't seem to factor in that much. Williams is also a very good run blocker, though, and the Rams can make a mess of things if Robinson clogs up the middle again.
2) I hope to see marked difference in having Bobby Wagner at MLB for us as opposed to Troy Reeder. Wagner is keyed into what Shanny likes to do and can diagnose plays pre-snap. This is gonna help, particularly when Deebo lines up in the backfield. I mean...this is why we wanted him.
3) I get the impression that NFL defenses have taken the position where they acknowledge that Deebo is gonna hurt them a couple of times during a game. But what they can't afford to have happen is to allow Kittle to get going at the same time. You're toast at that point. Gotta force him to stay in as a blocker.
4) I think that you can generally mark Bosa down for 2 sacks when he plays us. And you can do this for three reasons: A) he COMPLETELY OVERWHELMS Havs; B ) he doesn't have to defend the run against us (especially when McVay insists on going with an empty backfield in critical situations); and, C) Fred Warner is an ABSOLUTE BEAST patrolling the middle of the field behind him. And he (Warner) has that uncanny ability to, not only tackle you, but to lay wood at the same time. That was a cheap shot, though, he put on Stafford during the NFCCG last year.
5) Funny thing about the 9'ers...they can absolutely DOMINATE you for most of the game and, yet, only be leading 14 - 10 which subjects them to losing like last night in Denver. OTOH, though, their defense rarely allows another team to run away with the score despite having a couple of big plays made on them.
