Helmets......I have always thought that they have been engineered to where players feel minimal pain when they use their heads (The brain says otherwise). Joe Paterno himself said...Go back to the old school helmets that used to break beaks and watch the players keep their heads up more. Jerseys....There are no sleeves. They are almost tank tops. And they are tight and taped to inner pads, making it more difficult to grab during tackles.

  I agree. But the thing is, they prefer to "tackle" via contact.
