When he quit giving that 10-12 yard cushion and brought the CB's up.

Look at the all-22, you can measure b the hash marks where they lined up

What you want is 4-yards or press. . . but 10-12 yard cushions never happened.

Rams run a Match quarters defense. They read the routes concept then cover the guy when the concept reveals and break to the ball.
Out of that quarters the go with Cover-6 and also rotate one safety in the middle to cover the "hole"

The idea is to eliminate big plays--which is what kills teams. And specifically the Fangio/Staley scheme (which Morris is running) is to stop
big plays in the seems...they want one extra man to the playside.

It is not a question of man versus zone. The NFL is a 75% zone league. The Bills beat us running zone--mostly Hard cover-2, but it was all zone, maybe 2-3 plays of man.

It is not scheme that is the issue---a lot of teams are running the 5-1 Fangio/Staley defense.

it is a question of execution.

I think that 'in general' we're overreacting to the loss...

DBs backpedal when the receiver is running--they eat up the cushion
