I understand he was drafted in the 3rd round, however, after his rookie year Evans has not grown whatsoever. Evan more disappointing was the fact that Evans IMO, really never got into Professional Football Shape. Where was he when a bunch of Offensive Linemen joined Andrew Whitworth in his garage. Always looking out of shape and slow footed, which led to him struggling in pass protection, it's time to move on. Arcuri is far more dedicated to his craft IMHO plus Evans had a chance to be the starting Guard last year and whiffed then they played him in every snap of preseason and improvement did not come. This year 2nd verse same as the first, time to kiss and say goodbye.

My hope is that Arcuri shows that he is a viable backup this year that he shows the potential to eventually become a starter down the road. My hope is that he shows that he is a clear upgrade over Evans who is clearly a weak link on the offensive line. There is a good chance that we are going to need new RT & LG starters next year and the hope is that Arcuri can contend for the RT position or be the 1st tackle backup next season. To me Evans has proven that he is nothing more than an emergency backup and a poor one at that. It would be nice to replace him with someone who has potential to be better than him this year and who can be develop into a larger role going forward.
