I don't quite get it either. Looking at the contract on OverTheCap I'm not sure how anything beyond the $5M portion of his base salary for 2022 that's guaranteed plus the $5M roster bonus is in play.

If he retires (which I doubt) does he not owe them the remaining prorated signing bonus back? But maybe I am wrong there.
