Just posted this for the following sentence:
“With a roster inching in the wrong direction (and a Super Bowl window growing slimmer along with it), these Cowboys are flawed—too flawed to be considered a legitimate threat to NFC powerhouses like the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.”
“…powerhouses like the Los Angeles Rams…”
After all those years in the playoff desert - and with two 8-8 seasons being the high water mark - how truly sweet it is to read those words.
In the thirteen years before McVay arrived, these were our records, starting in 2004: 8-8, 6-10, 8-8, 3-13, 2-14, 1-15, 7-9, 2-14, 7-8-1, 7-9, 6-10, 7-9, 4-12. Total record, 68-139-1, winning percentage of 32.93.
Consider the 2009 season: we scored 16 total touchdowns. Last year Cooper scored that many by himself.
Since his arrival, the Rams are 55-26 (67.9%), 4 playoff appearances, two Super Bowl appearances, and one Super Bowl win.
Thank you, Sean McVay, Thank you, thank you, thank you!
