I'm no expert but from what I've read about the top end of this year's draft I'm not impressed.
Fans love to fantasize about what a rookie will do to strengthen their team. More often than not it doesn't come true the 1st year, and this year's talent doesn't seem to be getting the hype that past drafts have placed on the top draft picks.
I feel really good, even better than before, about McSnead trading our 1st round draft picks for proven players.
The Lions' fans are all excited about drafting a WR with a bum knee who won't be available for 6 months. When you need a top end WR, being happy about a guy who won't be ready come Sept isn't nothing to celebrate.
