The covid thing will affect the draft for this and probably another year. For the NFL, it will be a positive effect IF you have plenty of lower round picks AND you are as good as the Rams in hitting on them.

But there's also another effect: there are so many more good NFL college prospects because there's so many smaller schools that are developing players with similar physical traits and skills, but for one reason or another didn't get recruited to the bigger schools or maybe had issues (such as grades) that kept them out.

My observation is that the Rams are among the elite of having established an effective system for identifying these players and so aren't shy about relying on those players to develop into starters. By doing this, they can go after Superstar NFL game changers, using their top picks as poker chips.

This all has to be connected, or it won't work.
