Deebo, IMHO, is one of the most incredible players in the NFL today.... ain't any other player I like defeating more. Some as much... Kelci, Adams, Herbert, the list is long.... just completed a year in which the Rams did exactly that... beat the best. I like that. I don't ever wish for opponents to lose their best to ease the Ram's road to victory... instead I want the Rams to beat them AT THEIR BEST. I KNOW, am well aware, that "It's part of the game"... allow me a short anecdote:
Many years agoI had a friend who switched favorite NFL team's at the drop of a hat, (RIP, loved the guy)... but whomever was winning was his team. LONG LONG ago he was rooting for the Raiders.. for good reason, they were at that time one of the best. So a big near the end of the season matchup took place with the Steelers... THE best team according to many. The game took place AND... The Steelers, due to injuries, played the game without Bradshaw, Swann, Greene, and Harris. Raiders won... my friend was ecstatic... to him it proved the Raiders were the best. Part of the game, right? Yes, can't deny that... did it make them better than the Steelers? Today, I think, many will answer that with a resounding "YES"... I don't agree.
I WOULD be sorry to see Deebo leave the NFC West... because if the Ram's can't beat Deebo, frankly, they don't deserve the NFC West championship.
Just to sum it up.. not directing this at you Ram43.... I get it..... I'm just not a fan of participation trophies, and I'm not a fan of winning ONLY because opponents were depleted of their best players. - JamesJM
