They might have been worse. If they had gotten Stafford, it would have been only natural to focus on the passing game, but the strength of the 49ers late in the season and in the playoffs was a power running game. There is no way to know how it would have played out, but I can imagine the 49ers getting into the playoffs and being one and done. On the Rams, Stafford rode a magical combination of receivers in Kupp and OBJ to a 4-0 record in the 2021 playoffs.
