My way-too-early reactions to the Robinson signing…

March 17, 2022 11:24AM
On the plus side:

He’s a terrific young and healthy weapon. Might even be a #2 here even if Woods is 100% healthy come September. IOW, I have no problems with Robinson as a player or fit.

He might even exceed lofty expectations because this will be his first season with a QB of Stafford’s caliber, not to mention McVay has few peers, if any, at scheming his WR’s open.

But on the potentially negative side:

I would have preferred that those cap dollars were spent on a similarly talented Edge or CB and there are a few still out there.

It’s great to have an O this deep but it now looks harder to shore up D needs at Edge, CB, ILB, and maybe Safety. You can only do so much at those spots when drafting on Day 3 and now with a diminished cap pool.

Sometimes McVay seems unable to help himself when he gets the hots for an O weapon. That Atwell pick is still burning my butt.

So, color me confused while waiting to see how the offseason continues to unfold.

The Rams aren't that bad off on the edge.

A big money FA signing who is 28 years old. As OldHacker would say: Firepower baby!
