This is one of the poorest crops of QB prospects I can remember.
We have good talent evaluators on this board. But from my view of simply watching QBs over the years, none of these guys is worthy of even a late 1st round pick let alone something top 10.
Naturally in a QB poor league, these QBs will get pushed up. But, I think someday the league is going to figure out that it's a bad bargain to take a questionable QB with a premium pick just because you need one. You'll likely get something between a career back-up and a bust but only after wasting at least a couple of years trying to turn a prospect into a legit NFL starter. Or you'll get another Bridgewater, Geno Smith, or Gabbert.
If I'm Seattle, I rebuild using my picks wisely by taking the best player that best fits the vision for the team. If it takes a couple of years to find that QB, then it does.
The odds of stumbling into another Wilson is remote. But they'd be better off taking a guy that is raw but with decent attributes in the middle rounds just to see if lightening can strike twice.
Watching all this happen, if I'm the Niners I'm going to be pretty reluctant to trade away Garrapollo when they just don't know what Lance can be. I'd make Lance beat Garrapollo out this year. Of course, it's going to be pretty ugly if the Niners are so unsure of their high priced investment in Lance that they can't bring themselves to trade Jimmy G.
Thank God for Les Snead and his courage and foresight to pounce on the Stafford availability and the good fortune for Whit, McVay and Stafford to have intersected by chance in Cabo.
