I think what we have proven is that drafting is not generally enough. To ring the bell, one needs to be willing to spend some draft capital on vets.
And George Allen would indeed love that!
However, I think that balance is needed. One can go bad in either direction. We had great success this year with this approach. But, it can go wrong and is tough to sustain.
I am glad our FO has the nerve to go for it and the skill to go for it well.
But I think they need to balance their approach with some infusion of draft talent.
I'd love to see us acquire some picks by trading talent we can't afford to keep.
