Charley Taylor passed away yesterday.
Drafted by the Redskins - hey, that’s what they were known as then - he was converted to wide receiver. He went on to play for 13 seasons, retiring after the 1977 season.
At the time his retirement, the eventual Hall of Famer was the NFL’s all time leading receiver with 649 receptions, averaging just under 50 receptions per year.
