and not just today... they've always been that way. My two oldest grandson's are changing now... early 20's, but through the years it was always the hot team or player that they rooted for most. Both the two oldest are Bronco fans, their Dad is a Bronco fan... but they are HUGE Ram fans... in fact, when Denver plays the Rams they are basically neutral.
I attend a LOT, and I mean A LOT, of High School sports.... and it's always been the 'hot team' or 'hot player' for THAT YEAR that I see on the Jersey's the kids wear. I've already seen Burrow jersey's this year, and I don't recall ever seeing anything "Bengals" around here locally.
I should note: I'm not criticizing that in the least... it's part of the cycle of life, it's what you're supposed to do in those early years.
Just to note: One of my grandson's is a Charger fan... and I love that about him because... he came to like the Chargers the same way I came to like the Rams...no influence from others, at all. His Dad's a Raider fan (or was), I'm a Ram's fan, his close cousins he grew up with are Bronco fans... he chose the Chargers of his own volition. So when I watch a game with him for me it's just like being with another diehard Ram fan... I know he's getting out of his 'fandom' exactly what I get out of it. His younger brother, my youngest grandson, is following his older brother's lead... Chargers... and I can already tell, he's 12, it ain't a brief infatuation.. it's a lifelong dedication. - JamesJM
