FWIW, I do think you are way off on this take that they earned it more than he did. I took it that he didn't want to take away time from the players (if they wanted to hold it) as a true players' coach. I do agree with the take that the Halas trophy shouldn't be the focus, because he thinks they ain't done yet.

That's why I asked for your opinions Shecky.

I couldn't tell for sure if McVay thought of the Halas trophy as overrated from past experience, or it if was because he's only about the Lombardi because of his bad experience winning it at New Orleans and then falling short of the Lombardi.

Watching it a few times sure looked like he could care two cents about the trophy.

I believe that was the first time I've ever seen a head coach not hold up the Halas trophy when it was presented after winning the NFC Championship.
