You're right. Those are all huge plays. To me, this is how big plays break down...1. scoring plays. Obviously putting up a TD or even a FG means a lot, especially when the entire idea is to outs ore your opponent. 2. Turnovers. They usually change the momentum of the game as they often lead directly to scores. 3. Penalties. Some huge calls can have impact of the outcome, especially PI, where you can pick up a huge amount of field, personal fouls, 15 yards is tough to overcome and holding penalties. Even the 5 yarders can hang you if they come at a crucial time. And then 4. STs play. Downing a punt near the goal line, a great return, a gigantic punt. An insides kick. All could have a huge impact. 5. Everything else.
Running and passing, And defending running and passing. Ironically, these plays seem to always get the most attention. Ball control can be essential because if you have the ball the other team normally doesn't score. I know, pickoff and fumble and sacks. Pretty much covered.
