Of course he was pissed off about the 0-6 record against the 49ers, but I think McVay has been even MORE pissed with hearing in the media over and over that Shanahan was in his head and that the 49ers owned the Rams. Hearing that said time and time again would really stick in yer craw... He wanted to make it clear that Shanahan was NOT in his head, that he is perfectly capable of rising to the occasion to WIN over the 49ers and oh... by the way... they don't own us!
