Any chance McVay was playing the long game?

From the beginning I thought the 9ers had the best chance to beat the Packers at Lambeau. No way the Saints would have done it. 9ers just matched up well against them.

I know the answer is NO, but it is interesting to think about. I liked our chances against the 9ers at home way better than against Rodgers at Lambeau.
