Those 11 3rd-down conversions and the 35:39 to 24:21 time of possession advantage (despite only averaging 2.4 yards per carry in the run game) were significant factors in the game.

The Rams' defense was fresh at the end of the game. The SF did not have the Rams defense worn down at the end of the game.
