No way they should bench Akers. But they should include Michel more. 60/40? 70/30? Something. Michel is a "fall forward" runner (so is Akers) and has been a really valuable part of this 2021 team. And I just don't think Akers is physically ready to be the focial point for 4 quarters. Would love more two-back sets actually too. Split them beside Stafford in shotgun, shift Akers into a slot, etc. Heck have Michel line up as an H-back a few times.
With Rapp, I'm not sure he starts but he absolutely should push Weddle down the depth chart and be the 3rd safety.
Jones' presence could be a big lift. Big lift. He is a good tackler and has the agility and coverage ability to deal with some of that over-the-middle stuff the 49ers exploited in week 18.
