You may have a different impression of than I do of the area. My wife grew up in the Bay area before moving south in high school. We often visit "the city". It basically is and has been since the depression a union city consisting of dock workers, construction workers, and those in the service industries. Of course they don't live in the city but they do reside in and around less expensive towns in the bay area. And yes they are big 49er fans with a loyal following every since the days of Frankie Albert, Hugh Mcelhenny, and Joe the Jet Perry. I remember them when they played at Kezar Stadium. They have always been known as a team for the "common man". Of course with gentrification and the silison valley some very wealthy people have invested in the team's following but the hard core 49er fans -the ones that will sacrifice food on the table to attend a game down here In So Cal and worry later-are the ones you can see and hear at So Fi. The more wealthy fans stay at home and have parties and watch the game at the country clubs. Yes they serve wine at Levi stadium but the also do so at So Fi. (and where did the name "So Fi" come from )
