Speaking of advertising... I was checking an episode of Hill Street Blues today and although it was a 60 minute program when it aired, the episode was about 49 minutes without commercials. I compared it to a 60 minute episode of New Amsterdam which is one of my favorite series on now but it was only 42 minutes long without commercials. I just wanted to see how much more commercials saturate our television viewing today compared to how it used to be. 7-8 minutes more of commercials for a one hour show is a lot!
