Weddle left a bad impression on me. Seemed washed up when we had him and for some reason, I thought he bad mouthed the Rams in some way. He was definitely in my mind as someone I was glad to see go. Someone said that his last year with the Rams, when he sucked, he was playing injured so maybe a couple of years off and just playing in the post season will allow his strengths to show through?
I know he was highly regarded as a player when he was with SD and Baltimore but we didn't get that version of him. I also don't think he was respected because he had outrageous physical attributes. I think he played hard, smart and aggressive so maybe he's still got all of that.
That's how I recall it, but who knows? Maybe being healthy, he might bring the wood and from the neck up is really what the Rams are looking for. He might not play, but I have a feeling he could be out there to call defensive signals, even though, it's a different defense. Anyway all we can do is hope for the best.
