I was thinking the same thing but in a macro sense. Shanahan is in McVay's head and he is manipulating McVay into doing what he wants him to. He's got McVay playing scared to lose. Got him calling plays that he wouldn't normally call. I mean, the 49ers took Cupp out of the game without having to stop him. The Rams did it for them by choosing to overemphasize the plodding Michel.
