Re: USFL Unveils team cities, nicknames and logos for 2022 debut

Kind of surprised they're not bringing back the Invaders or the Express or anyone at all for CA. An 8 team, condensed league is probably fine for now and maybe they'll expand if things go well. I can see the reasoning behind bringing back the original franchises but will the nostalgia ultimately work for or against them? I mean, it's kind of cool and all but at the same time, we're talking about teams that didn't actually make it. Maybe they should bring all new teams so there isn't any negative stigma attached?

I, for one, hope they rekindle the excitement and fun of the original league but I have no choice but to be very skeptical about them succeeding. There have been so many leagues that have tried and failed that you can't assume anything other than this failing too. But, here's to hoping. I also saw the first 4 head coaches names have been leaked:

New Jersey Generals – Mike Riley
Houston Gamblers – Kevin Sumlin
Tampa Bay Bandits – Todd Haley
Philadelphia Stars – Bart Andrus

If there's any justice in the universe, the 9th team will be in San Diego and Mike Martz will be the coach. smiling smiley
