team is small in the secondary and don't have that strong safety enforcer type player that can stop RBs in their tracks.
would not be surprised if Rams are towards the bottom of the league in yards allowed after 1st contact. Especially with opponent's WR YACs.
I didn't see a dominating defense today. Gave up too many long drives. When the Ravens RB busted that long gain in the second half, the Ravens did a favor for the Rams. OTW, we'd see another 5 minutes tick off the clock. Stafford might not have had time for a last minute drive.
Our best D scheme in the second half would have been just letting the Ravens cross midfield and holding them to a Tucker field goal.
Trade TDs for FGs.
However, the play calling on Offense was terrible. Ravens' secondary cannot cover receivers for more than 3 seconds. Raven cover the long and short, but don't cover well mid. They have loose zone coverage beyond 10 yards. However, Rams kept calling similar short crosses or bootleg outs... which plays more into the Raven's strength in zone and man coverages.
Seams were open all day at 10-15 yards. Look back at the replays and you can see that Rams had way more success there than anywhere else.
