But... they can't see the QB they're supposed to be protecting has his head turned completely sideways by a DLman who has a firm grip on his facemasek that everyone BUT the official sees? That was game altering as it would have likely ended in a Rams TD instead of a FG. And it could have ended in a serious injury. Doesn't make me have much faith in these refs, sometimes. That's the equivalent of a WR dropping a wide open pass for a TD.
Thank that would have been missed if it was Tom Brady? These refs know who to protect.
Sometimes it feels like they DO see it. They just choose not to call it. Does that really happen? It feels like it does because when you watch the replays of some of these egregious fouls... you think... how could you NOT see that? So, if you saw it, why didn't you call it? It don't smell right.
