Stepping in mid-season to a new team/system.... even if the system and schemes are similar you're still dealing with new coaches, new players, and in all likelihood new techniques in accomplishing the same things.
I recently speculated that this was an issue during the 3 game losing streak... losing Woods and then bringing in OBJ... who I feel many felt should just walk on and perform as well as Woods.
I think it takes 'some' time for players to adapt, to learn, to learn how to communicate with new teammates/coaches. This last game seems to me to bear this out with OBJ having his best game yet... and hopefully he'll just keep getting better.
I also think getting to know your teammates is probably more "key" for D players than O players... just me but it I think O players are not 'quite' as reliant on knowing what the guy next to you is doing as D players are.
So to point...I don't know about Von yet... and probably won't for a few more games. - JamesJM
