The article says alcohol was involved. We don't know to what extent or on whose part but if that's the case, alcohol has a way of giving people the courage to do things they might not do when they're sober. Just sayin'.
still no excuse...if you need a gun to take care of your own son, you are not a man and obviously the alcohol didn't give this coward one once of courage as he went running for his gun.
Not all explanations are excuses.
