Rams haven't had anyone in the position of QB Coach since 2018. Does that matter... does it mean something? I don't know. Maybe. It was in 2018 that Goff began going downhill. I am NOT blaming that on the fact that Rams didn't have a QB coach. I'm just saying... think about it.
2017 - Greg Olson hired as Rams QB Coach. At season's end Olson was hired as Offensive Coordinator for the Raiders. He is still in that job.
2018 - Zac Taylor hired as Rams QB Coach. At season's end Taylor was hired as Head Coach for the Bengals. He is still in that job.
The QB Coaching job has not been filled since Zac Taylor left .
2018 - Zac Robinson hired as Sr. Analyst with Pro Football Focus.
2019 - Zac Robinson hired as Rams Asst QB Coach. (There was no QB coach)
2020 - Liam Cohen hired as Rams Asst QB Coach (There was no QB coach)
2020 - Zac Robinson hired as Rams Asst WR Coach
2021 - Liam Cohen hired as Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach at University of Kentucky
2021 - Zac Robinson hired as Rams Asst QB Coach. (How can you be Assistant to a position that's not filled?)
Could our QB's benefit by having a really good QB Coach AND an Offensive Coordinator? Seems to me the job might be kinda important. I mean... it's filled with somebody in an Assistant role. Maybe that's good enough but if it's good enough, why aren't they the doggone QB coach?
