Interesting, but I see this as nothing more than a coincidence. After all, the players for '99 and '01 are all between their mid-40s and early 50s now - no bearing on the current team. Nothing correlates between those teams and now...the players are different... the uniforms are different...Heck, even the stadium is different!
Would love to see us lose "close" when we do, but to suggest that because past Rams teams typically didn't get blown out on their way to the Super Bowl means the 2021 squad's fate is sealed is a bit of a stretch.
And FWIW, the 1979 team that also made it to the Super Bowl, got absolutely blasted in back to back weeks that year (which totally nullifies your hypothesis). They lost to the Cowboys 30-6 and then lost 40-16 to the Chargers the following week. They actually lost to the Giants next for a three game losing streak! To beat the Cowboys on the road in the Divisional round later that season to this day is one of the sweetest victories of my time as a fan! (Especially considering what happen the year before where we got hammered by them, 28-0, in the NFC Championship with Hollywood Henderson doing finger rolls over the goal post after a Pick 6!)
Not trying to be a hater, just bringing more clarity to the situation. Very interesting nonetheless!
