In the latest JR Athletic article on Woods she discussed the WR issues facing the team and what Woods meant to the team as a leader, pass catcher, and blocker. In that article she discussed Woods having a conversation with McVay about the lack of targets earlier in the season, then JR discusses the Jackson situation without naming him. “ But when other players- even recently- have also lobbied for more targets, escalating that conversation to the point where trade or release were ultimately the only options, Woods would never all such a conversation to get close to that point”.
On Friday I caught a snippet from Jim and Pat on Sirius XM NFL Radio where Pat discussed OBJ and Djax not being the same thing. Pat Kirwan used more decorum that I will. Basically said Djax was a one trick pony that used a few moves to get behind the coverage at times, where OBJ is a complete WR that can block, run a full route tree, and from what he hears isn’t an issue in the Lockeroom and is well liked by his teammates. The only question on OBJ for Kirwan was can he run the precise routes that the other Rams’ WRs run, and can OBJ still perform at an elite level in the league.
