“Really, the thing they needed in this game was for us to make mistakes, and that’s exactly what we did,” Whitworth said. “I think it hurts, and it’s a game that you’re frustrated by, but the reality is that I would probably say there were two, three plays in the first half that really dictated the entire game and get you behind the chains. And now it changes the entire game from the perspective of, ‘You’ve given them 14 points and now they’re a ball-control offense already, and now you’ve kind of set them up with a perfect game that they needed it to be.’ And that’s just the reality of it.”
