I want to face teams that are at 100%. While I most definitely celebrate any victory... injuries are a part of the game... wins over a team that's only at 80% (or any % less than full strength).. I view as somewhat tainted. That certainly doesn't make it the Ram's fault... but in my mind it's less than true "we're the best team" victory.
Long time ago my cousin, (who switched team allegiance at the drop of a hat), was for the moment a Raider fan (Raiders were doing good). Raiders played the Steelers who were at the time (70's), at the height of their glory years. But for this one game...
And I can't really remember exactly who was out but for sure Bradshaw, Harris, and Swan... and a couple others... perhaps Greene? Lambert?... they were decimated. Well the Raiders won and my cousin was beside himself in ecstasy... in his mind it was proof positive that the Raiders we're the greatest team in the NFL. And me?
Had it been the Ram's beating the injury decimated Steelers I would not have claimed the Rams masters of the NFL. Obviously I would have loved the win.
Now the above is not what you're getting at... I understand, but it points out why I prefer beating teams when they are at 100%.
To make an even more extreme example... I'd be much prouder to beat Tyson Fury in a boxing match than by kicking a 3rd graders butt.
