I think there's a lot of really good teams that are close. Packers are like a mirror image of the Rams, especially now that the Rams are better at QB. Dallas might have the best offense in the league. And the Cards are in this too, they are not a fluke. Team that looks a cut below those four is the Bucs but they're defending champs. So to me NFC looks 5 deep with real contenders which is a very deep conference.
From here on out which of those develops the best on defense? That's probably gonna be the story of the playoffs. Ironically the Cards started the hottest on defense but they look flawed in their run defense. Rams were moving it on the ground vs them too they just fell behind. So for Arizona they have to get that fixed if they want to be the team. But it's a collection of very strong offenses and defensive growth will determine things so I hope Morris gets better and better as we go forward.
Couldn’t agree more, Merlin.
In fact, I’ll go so far as to say that Rams must improve on their D and ST coverage units if they hope to compete with those other 4 teams in the playoffs. Hard to believe that last year’s #1 D has become a bit of a weak link in the playoff race, but there it is.
And if DeCamillis doesn’t pull things together PDQ then I predict that he’s a goner next offseason. Sigh…
