The video illustrates something Maury Wills used to say, distinguishing the difference between success and being successful; (paraphrasing) “If you bat .300, you have had success, but if you were capable of hitting .325, you haven’t been successful.” Warner showed multiple videos where the pass was completed, but completed late resulting in the lost opportunity to gain additional yards. He also showed multiple videos where the pass was incomplete due to poor mechanics.
II’ve long considered two stats to be critical to a teams success: completion percentage and yards per attempt. Warners video shows how both can be improved by better mechanics.
