I didn't hear Strahan's comments, so I don't know when this alleged player meeting with McVay took place.
But if it did take place, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't take place after the week 16 road game at Seattle. This was likely Goff's 2nd worse performance of the season (Miami being #1). That Seattle game was the site of the infamous WTH interception followed up by the next drive where he slid short of the line of gain. Thereafter, cameras caught a coach getting afyer him on the sidelines
and Goff chirping back. But I don't believe that sequence is what might prompt a player(s) to go to McVay.
I believe the straw that broke the camel's back (in terms of the players) was a 4th quater ST's fumble where the Seahawks had punted the ball to the Rams and our PR coughed it up on the return. The Rams recovered the ball, but the PR ended up getting benched on the Seahawk's subsequent punt.
I don't believe the players had any problem whatsoever in McVay (or the ST's coordinator) hooking the PR to hold him responsible. But I suspect that McVay not holding Goff to the same standard (despite the sheer volume of mistakes that he'd that game and season), could have very well sparked anger.
