I honestly thought there was a chance he could be gone this off-season. Despite his tremendous size at 6' 5" and over 250 pounds, his knee which didn't seem to get better after a whole off-season seemed destined to doom him.
Then, following a cryptic tweet about how he's all the way back, he has emerged as an absolute force. From cracking Gronkowski's ribs on a clean hit to pressuring the quarterback from the edge and wreaking havoc with his long arms. His emergence has been huge.
Yeah, Lewis’ good health has been a Very pleasant surprise. I had mentally resigned myself to seeing the D forced to do without him for the most part.
But perhaps the training staff has worked a miracle here. We are a third of the way through the season and Lewis is growing and producing at very high levels.
Don’t look now, but that 3rd round investment might prove to be a HR.
