It is one thing to 'say' you're moving forward with the 'plan as is' and it's quite another to do it in real time. I believe McVay possesses a strong 'trust' demeanor coupled with a smidgeon of "gotta get this guy more plays" loyalty. All coaches do - my point being it's a bit stronger in McVay. If in his heart he doesn't have complete faith that any specific play call, player, isn't the best option then he just ain't a'gonna run it. He is a minutia oriented coach.
I think all the above is a big plus IF you have the right guy at the helm... and I believe we do. - JamesJM
