As I can attest from my own experience, a finger may never really be the same again after this type of injury heals. It was my left (fortunately) index finger. It still has a slight downward bend, and it doesn't bend as much as the other fingers when I make a first. Even if Wilson's finger fails to return fully to normal, I have a feeling that he should ultimately be able to throw a football as well as before the injury. The injury looked painful and gruesome on TV, but my own injury wasn't very painful. On the other hand, it really looked bad like Wilson's did. I was like, "What in the world did I do to my finger?!"
