I don't think they mentioned anything during the broadcast, but it appeared to me that Wilson's injury is mallet finger. I had this happen, and my finger never did fully recover. It happens when the finger gets bent downward suddenly, causing the tendon to be stretched or torn. It took a long time for it to heal back to semi-normal. It might not be too much of a problem after a few weeks or so of healing. During the healing process, however, it was a real pain to do even simple things, such as typing on a computer. There is a related injury called jersey finger, when the tendons get stretched by, for example, pulling hard on a jersey during a football game.
