And I don't mean precisely 10.... that could be considered likely SB contenders. Teams are still getting their sea legs, (I believe), and it's not unrealistic to think a team appearing 'down' at this time could rise to the top.
I don't know if the Chargers, or any other team, is top 3 right now... but I would say the Rams, TB, GB, Dallas and Cards (Panthers just slightly below) the top 5 in the NFC... and in the AFC the Titans, Bills, Ravens, Chargers, Bronco's... and I didn't list those in any order.
Most intriguing to me are the Bengals and Browns... because they are "almost" a complete mystery to me... I think both are 3-1?
As to your point... by "my" picks, (which mean little), the Ram's have played 2 of the top teams in the NFL and are 3-1... quite respectable, IMHO.- JamesJM
