It is like having 3 point shooters in Basketball, if you have them it opens up the middle but if you don't they clog the middle. The threat of the 3 is all that matters, if you bring that threat they have to guard you.
In football there are a couple ways to do such a thing, but the best way to consistently help your oline with pass protection is bring a deep threat to the table. For some reason, teams rushed Goff as if there was no threat at all. Also the threat of getting burned on a blitz did not seem to be there and now seems ever present.
If there is one thing that has been established about Stafford and the offense so far, it is that we can throw deep, and that is huge.
