I still don't think this defense is set up for that, if you are behind you need the ball ASAP....if they allow long periods of the cards O on the field and add in being behind it won't bode well IMO.....Now I'm not talking about like 3-0 or 7-0, but a double digit will be hard pressed to overcome....This D needs a lead to work like he has it set up IMO.....
Let's make sure we have the lead at half and it's in the bag...LOL.....what is it now 39 or 40 and 0 after a half time lead.....
I'm not a fan of the soft coverage schemes Morris has been deploying, but I think if there were ever a team to use it on, it's this one. Dalton and Brady -- and Wentz to a degree -- all tried to get the ball out quickly and take what the defense gave them. Despite the very solid results those first couple of games, I'd still prefer it if the Rams had pressed the WRs and forced the QB to hold the ball longer than they wanted to, allowing Donald and the rush to get their face. But the Cards don't seem to be that kind of offense -- they use longer developing plays and a lot of their success is Murray scrambling around and letting his receivers get open. So I'm OK with that approach against the Cards -- keep Murray in the pocket and force him to throw over his linemen into tight windows downfield.
