I was impressed with Perkins. He had a bunch of bozos blocking for him against Denver's starting D and moved the ball. He had no RBs to speak of to create a running game to keep the D off balance. His WRs was one undersized backup and a few guys who won't make the team. His TE is a WR who is making a difficult transition. He ran very vanilla plays with no misdirection or fakes. He played well. He completed more than half his passes. He moved the ball for scores. He made a few brilliant runs himself and most importantly he survived. What else would you have him do?
