LA Rams: QB Matthew Stafford can ‘be MVP in league’ per NFL’s Eisen

The LA Rams‘ new quarterback Matthew Stafford is getting a lot of buzz among LA Rams fans, and that makes complete sense. After all, the Rams gave up a small king’s ransom to land what was effectively the prize of the 2021 offseason in landing Stafford. As many as a dozen NFL teams bid or gave serious inquiries to get him. So if anyone tries to tell you that Stafford isn’t that good or that he cannot win in the post-season, just laugh and walk away.

Eisen is a fairly level-headed NFL analyst, and that makes him one of the more respectable commentators with a microphone. He doesn’t sugarcoat comments, and he does a fairly good of pointing at, but not crossing the line over, the conditions that created the parting of ways for the Rams head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Jared Goff.

Eisen pointed out the fact that McVay said that he was so happy was truly about the fact that Matthew Stafford was seated next to him this season and that Rams legendary HOFer Isaac Bruce claimed that having Stafford is like a ‘breath of fresh air.’

Sofi Stadium is supreme

There was even a prolonged conversation about the Rams news SoFi Stadium. It’s the crown jewel of NFL stadiums. It is truly an architectural achievement, a cutting-edge merger of state-of-the-art technology balanced with the aesthetics of a museum or art gallery. It’s visually pleasing, calming, and breathtaking all at the same time.

Eisen and staff love the promise of quarterback Matthew Stafford and running back Cam Akers in this offense. The conversation, out of trying to mask Rich Eisen’s enthusiasm for Akers, pivots to the Rams defense. The fact that All-Pro Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey lead the defense should not confuse anyone over the fact that the rest of the defense is young and extremely talented.

Of course, any conversation about the LA Rams’ chances in the NFL begins with their chances to win one of the toughest divisions in the NFL, the NFC West. So with so much positive commentary expressed about the LA Rams in the above video, how does Rich Eisen see the NFC West playing out?

Okay, stop the dramatics and the suspense.

Best of the NFC West

Eisen sees the LA Rams as the team that has an inside track of taking the NFC West. Not the San Francisco 49ers, not the Seattle Seahawks, and not the Arizona Cardinals.

Hey, all the talk in the world, all the votes of confidence, all of the reports in the universe that proclaim the Rams as the best team in the NFC West, the Rams will still start the season with of record of 0-0. The Rams must fix the issues that surfaced in 2020. The team must remain healthy. Most of all, the team must ignore all of the noise and realize that winning will only happen on the football field and only when the LA Rams outplay their opponent.

Can Matthew Stafford be the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 2021? Yes, yes he can. That’s not anointing him anything just yet. He will need to lead the team to 12+ wins, and restore this Rams offense to the Top-5 scoring offense. Can he? Yes. Will he? Time will tell.
