Going from college to the NFL requires a pretty significant adjustment for players, given the speed of the pro level. Players are bigger, faster and stronger in the NFL, requiring rookies to go up against some of the best athletes in the world.

Earnest Brown IV just completed OTAs and minicamp with the Rams and he quickly realized the difference in speed from playing at Northwestern to suiting up on an NFL field.

“It’s going really well, getting adjusted out here. It’s always beautiful weather out here in Cali. … Just getting adjusted to everybody. Game speed’s much different than college,” he said in a recent interview.

Brown has a good chance to compete for playing time as a rookie along the defensive line, specifically at defensive end with Michael Brockers gone. He’ll get to showcase his skills more in training camp when the pads go on and players can hit each other, which is when the tempo will really pick up.

But as much work as Brown has to put in, he’s willing to do whatever is necessary to get the Rams to the Super Bowl.

“Will do anything for the Rams team to go to the Super Bowl,” he said. “Ready to put forth that “dawg work” like Coach Henny says. Show those Rams fans what Ernie B is all about.”
