Higs has never been a Redzone guy for whatever reason or Everett for that matter.
I wonder how much of our red zone issues may be Jared's reluctance to force a ball to these guys. Maybe Higby is capable of providing that threat.....just thinking on screen.
McVay has a history of being average or less than average in the redzone going back to Washington, so it has involved more than one qb.
Meanwhile last year Goff was good inside the 20 generally (qb rating of 107.2: [
www.espn.com] ) and inside the 10, on percentage of TDs to attempts, was rated 5th in the league. [

The issue was not Goff. Not if he was good in the RZ (he was) and not if McVay had the same problem going back to Washington.
